But Elara tasted the poison beneath every smile. She swept into the hall beside her parents, Kael just behind, her gown of deep green catching the candlelight. The Princess and the Frog Tiana was born on a wild stormy night late in December, the palace was lit up in all its Christmas glory as the wind howled and the rain battered against the thick stone walls. Her father called her a princess, and she had lived the princess life for as long as she could remember. Until now. She understood now why Cinderella was her least favourite princess story. Paupers did not become Princesses. Princesses were born through a royal bloodline. Like her bloodline.
