A wave of dizziness washed over me, and then—nothing.
When I finally woke up, my surroundings were cold and unfamiliar. I couldn’t see anything. The sack was still over my head, and my hands and feet were chained, pulling painfully against the cold, unforgiving metal. I twisted my wrists, trying to find some way to loosen the bonds, but they were too tight. My heart pounded in my chest, panic rising every second.
Then, I heard a voice. A man’s voice, low and calm.
“She’s ready,” he said, his words sharp like a knife.
