My breathing was ragged, sharp gasps tearing painfully through my throat. My head throbbed, pressure building behind my eyes as the images replayed again and again, relentless and unforgiving.

My chest tightened with unease. The haunting image of his lifeless eyes and the charred remains of his body plagued my every waking moment. It was as if my mind had carved a permanent, vivid portrait of that catastrophic incident. The memory, like a relentless echo, followed me wherever I went. But I knew, deep down, that constantly dwelling on the gruesome details would only serve to keep me trapped in a cycle of despair.

Kevin was having another disturbing nightmare, and he kept seeing four distinct images in this order; houses on fire, blackbirds sitting on a tree, a name written on a paper, and a man screaming while he was being tortured. His grip on the bed sheet tightened, and drops of sweat gathered on his forehead. His head turned, eyes remained closed, his chest heaving rapidly. Once again, images of a gigantic cloud of smoke rising from burning houses, Crows pecking an oak, a finely written note with a name on it, and a man screaming in pain floated around his mind. His body was hunched, his breathing hastened and fingers clenched together.

The distorted images and pictograms almost seemed to shiver and pulse with some sort of alien, hypnotic rhythm the longer my eyes bored into them. I froze, transfixed as reality itself took on a wavering, liquid quality around the fringes of the mural's circumference. It was as if the boundaries separating this crumbling room and the impossibility realm depicted in those flowing images grew ever more permeable by the second. 'c'mon, Luna! Keep your focus!' She froze. The visions were clouding her senses. They came in distorted Images . She took loud and heavy breaths. There was a phishing sound in her head. She brought her hands over her ears to block out the sounds. It was futile. She saw a bloodied image of Mariana. The blood trickled down her face. The sight was horrific. Images of other bloodied parts of her body conjured up in her head. The dress she had on was badly ripped, her face contorted in pain and horror. The images soon began to dissipate into nothingness. Blackness washed over her and her knees gave away. She fell to the floor.
