Maybe Marcus had finally decided to explain. My hands trembled as I opened it. My world stopped. The glass slipped from my fingers and shattered on the floor. My body felt as though ice water had been poured through my veins. My eyes blurred as I read the words again and again, praying they would change. It wasn’t a love letter. It wasn’t an apology. It was a divorce letter. I covered my mouth to stop myself from screaming. Tears streamed freely as I stumbled into the living room, fumbling through my bag for my phone. My hands shook so badly that I emptied everything onto the floor just to find it.

You will beg for mercy every day, and receive none," Raven declares as she digs her hands deeper, ripping apart Dagon's chest.

He’d told Jake to take care of things because he wanted to make up for lost time while he was busy tracking Paul. Amidst the laughter and the gentle waves, Ace asked, “What is your favorite book series?” As we sat arm in arm playing twenty questions, I answered, “The Divergent series; I just love Four and Tris.” "Really?" If she placed it on the top shelf it could easily blend in with the array of books of all shapes and sizes that were stuffed, shoved and crammed in rows from floor to ceiling. She felt a little light headed when she stood up. She couldn’t decide if it was from the power emanating from the book she held close to her chest or simply because she stood up too fast. Whatever the reason, she took the time to stand still and wait for her equilibrium to come back before heading off to the den. ****
