I wasn’t sure what shocked me more, the fact that he said demons were real or the idea that they could take over a wolf’s body and make them kill the people they loved.
“Demons?” I said in disbelief. “That sounds insane. Is this real?”
“I wish it wasn’t,” Kaden replied. “But it is.”
I looked back at the monster on the floor again, and even though my head was trying to fight it, I was starting to believe him. That thing didn’t look like anything I had ever seen before. It had wings, sharp claws, and a horrible face. Nothing about it looked normal.
“I’ve started calling them alpha and beta demons,” Kaden continued, running a hand through his hair. “Just to make it easier to explain.”
