I throw my hands to the floor when the sound gets louder, forcing me to drop to my knees and lay on the floor helplessly as the defeaning sound rang loudly in my ears, around my head. I groaned, prying my eyes open for a bit to try and figure out where that sound was coming from. But it seems, it came through the walls, and I couldn't see any speaker or device that would create such an alarming sound in the room. "Stop, please!" I pleaded, scraping the wooden floor with my claws descending from my nails. My head is hurting, and the longer the sound reverberated around me, the more I felt pain in mamy parts of my body.

Sirens howling in the distance, voices rising in panic, the sharp crackle of broken glass shifting around her. And worse, the low, maddening buzzing that seemed to come from inside her ears, like static crawling beneath her skin. She moaned. Then– *Bang. Bang. Bang* The sudden pounding on her window jolted her back to the surface.

My wolf became weaker, retreating. Suddenly a ringing formed between my ears, and I clamped my hands over them as it became louder and louder. Piercing and slightly painful. I looked around the pack foyer, where I currently was, watching others grab their ears, hearing the same piercing ring as I was. Then came Lamia’s melodic voice, except it harbored rage and fury. It was loud and clear but echoed and vibrated through me. I cast a glance at Kellen who also had his hands clapped over his ears. He had been coming down the stairs and was now almost brought to his knees like me.

The ECG machine beeped a little faster, and Erin had grown undeniably sick. As his head began to spin, the telephone began to ring. He couldn't handle it. Every little noise was the ammo to the gun hammering his ears, to the point where he felt the phantom shape of the bullets clog his ear-drums. That phone almost never rung before, but thanks to his luck, the ringing ceaselessly screams daily, now. Yanking the cord out of the plug, the phone's jarring ringing came to a halt. At last, one less noise to worry about. Sighing, he curled into a ball, feeling a soft, furry creature rest against his forearm.

Every ring would cause their blood circulation to go erratic. Quite a few of them felt their blood surging with the sound of the bells, and some of them even started to vomit blood. Fane furrowed his eyebrows, circulating his true energy to block the attacks brought forward by the sound. The Divine warriors in front of him had yet to move and were merely looking at him with disdain.

The big brother yelled. "Goodness!" Wilson gasped. The little girl....screamed in fear. "Aaaaaaaaaaah" It was so loud that both Wilson and the Lolita's elder brother flinched and covered their ears. They roared in pain and moved their front paws to cover their ears while the biggest of them all ignored its aching eardrums and went for the little girl.

Emberlynn winced, her ears twitching as the distant sound of a ringing bell echoed throughout the room. She shuddered slightly, eyeing Betsy, who didn't look affected by the sound. Betsy frowned, and for a moment, as she said nothing, Emberlynn thought she was the only one who had heard the sound. Until Betsy hurriedly moved towards her, and her voice hushed as she began to explain.

An hour—and a large bill—later, I leave my cat under the vet’s care. She has a broken leg, one bite on her neck, and is battered, bruised and stressed to the max. They’re keeping her under observation for a few days, and then when I bring her home, she’ll have to be kept calm and away from the dogs. But even if she’s locked in my bedroom, the poor thing is going to be terrified. “I’m so sorry,” Mom tells me as I pull my seatbelt over my lap. “It’s not your fault. Carly should have trained her stupid dogs better.”
