Beyond Goodbye: No Us Anymore
She spotted Alexander sitting alone on the lookout platform at the edge of the camp, holding something in his hand and staring at it absently.
Moonlight illuminated the side of his face, softening his usually firm features.
After a moment's hesitation, Eleanor walked over.
"Mr. Grant, are you not turning in yet?"
Alexander heard her and turned around. He didn't put the item away, instead offering her a natural smile. "I couldn't sleep, so I came out to look at the stars."
Eleanor followed his gaze. There was no light pollution here, so the night sky over Lethor was exceptionally bright, with stars scattered across the darkness.
