Do Wolves Purr Novels & Stories

I brought my mind to a still, relaxing state and took slow breaths. Time went on, stretching and stretching. With no idea how long it had been, I held on. Eyes shut, shoulders relaxed, legs pressing against dry twigs and grass. Before something interrupted me. A small purr. As if it came from a puppy nearby. It sounded distant, but tangible. I flipped my eyes open, glancing around for any signs of a puppy in sight. Nothing. Did that happen in my head? Did it mean I reached out to my wolf? Could the warriors be right with their rumor?

I knew that wolves weren’t shy about nudity but there was no WAY I was letting anyone, even my mates see me naked anytime soon. I darted into the side of Ryan’s fur and hid. My heart raced and I immediately began sweating, his wolf began to vibrate. He was purring. Was he trying to calm me? I grinned and ran my fingers through his coat. He made a noise and then suddenly he flipped onto his back.

He opens his mouth to speak, but instead of another reassurance-slash-command, a deep rumble comes from the back of his throat. My wolf cocks her head. My tears stop from sheer astonishment. Cadoc Collins is purring. It’s the wrong word—the sound is deeper and more resonant than a purr, and unmistakably the sound of an apex predator—but there’s no other way to put it. He’s purring. His brow furrows and he scrubs his chest, just as surprised as I am.

Laying her colossal head on the tops of my now folded calves. I wrapped my arms around each of the wolves' heads and squeezed them. Caressing my face in both of their furs, the brown one gave me a swift lick across the cheek. The snapping of teeth sounded from ahead of us, capturing our attention. The blonde wolf was sharing glares at the wolves by my sides. My hands glided through each of the dog's fur coats, gently tugging at their molt. Both of them met my eyes, their golden orbs penetrating my soul with sorrow. They each whimpered, causing me to soothe them with hushed whispers.

Then I suddenly get distracted by his muscles underneath his thick, dark, turtle neck sweater. Suddenly I hear a faint purr in my head, “Wha the-” I start looking around, “Did you hear that?”I ask. He looks around, “No, what did you hear?” “Ugh, it felt like it was in my head….” He then smiles, “That’s your wolf talking; they can connect with you once you awaken? What is she saying?” I feel a sudden rush of heat to my cheeks, “Nothing.” My wolf freaking purred…

He quizzed. "The silver wolf…" I muttered. "Is this the first time that you have seen such a wild creature?" He queried. "Hmmm… first, I don't think it's wild. It even purrs in my hands like it was liking my touch!" I explained. "Are you sure? Wolves are wild creatures. Aren't you scared of being shredded into pieces, hmmm?" He mumbles. I shook my head and inhaled deeply. "I'm not! I went back to the passage to find it but it was gone. Haven't you really seen it?" I asked him.

Ruari asked. “No, and if they had I would have fried their ass like I told you.” I told him. I could see him and Locke talking with each other. I touched his face as he focused on me. I rubbed the light scruff on his face, and I swear I could hear Locke start to purr. I think it is cute when my big alpha wolf purrs like this. I will never tell him that because I am sure he would deny it.

He couldn't help it; a low rumble started in his chest, something between a growl and a purr. "Oh my god," she whispered. "Are you... are you purring?" He snorted at her, another sharp huff. "Okay, not purring. Sorry." She was laughing again, that bright sound he was starting to crave. "What would you call it then? Happy growling?" He didn't have a word for it. Didn't know what else to call the sound he was making, the vibration of pure contentment that he couldn't seem to stop. Wolves didn't purr. But whatever this was, he couldn't help it.

I said, stroking the bridge of his nose with admiration. He was much more than just a big dog; he was majestic in every possible way. The wolf closed his eyes, letting out a sound I can only describe as a deep, guttural purr that made my fingers tingle and sent a shiver down my arm. He climbed partially onto the bed with surprising agility for his size, settling his immense body beside me without crushing me, becoming a wall of warmth and protection.

’ I tell him. When I approach her, she lets out a soft whimper before leaping towards me. I swiftly catch her in my arms, feeling her grip tighten around my neck as she begins to suck on it. It takes me a moment to realize that she is marking me and whispers “Mate”, leaving her scent on me without my initial awareness. It's important to note that wolves don't suck blood during mating; instead, they bite. Not only that, but it suddenly dawns on me that she must be part vampire, which explains why she has always worn sunglasses and stood out from the crowd.
