The book quietly flipped toward the back, its pages stirring the air with the smell of old paper. When it stopped, I unconsciously recoiled from the pictures on the page, finding it difficult to grasp what I saw. "What are those things?" I finally asked. The creatures had dark and hairy bodies. Their arms and legs were the same lengths, similar in proportion to an ape.

I was beyond confused now; what did an old book have to do with Clarissa? "You guys have no idea what this is, do you?" We shook our heads, waiting for Alyssa to explain. "It's a grimoire of supernatural creatures. The book was written by the Fae elders and told everything there is to know about every supernatural creature in existence... including how to kill them."

Browsing for books casually, one of the books caught my eyes. It was titled “The ancient Realms” I took the book from the shelf and I opened it, I was surprised by its contents. It's a book about ancient creatures like that, Vampires, werewolves, goblins and other creatures and their domain. “Nice choice of books,” I was startled by the voice, with the book almost falling from my hands. I turned around to look at the owner of the voice, I saw a woman at a distance cleaning a crystal marble and smiling.

If the news about someone peeing on his head were to reach the ears of women and children, what dignity would he still have? If brute force was out of the question, then... He fished out The Boundless Buddhist Creature, a book he had found at Grand Bodhisattva’s residence. An extraordinary text, it had the ability to capture mythical creatures. Alex believed that the two bear demons before him couldn't possibly be more powerful than mythical creatures, so capturing them shouldn't be too much of a challenge. The book had recognized Alex as his master when he acquired it, and it started to refine itself. At this moment, it already had a mental picture of him.

There was a book and a pen on the coffee table, though, which was something. Crystal leaned over, picked it up, and was disappointed to discover that it wasn't a diary or journal. The title on the book's jacket read: Howard's Amazing Adventure- and according to the back cover, the book told the story of an alien rabbit that had accidentally broken into the earth. Crystal picked up the book, turned a few pages randomly, and finally put it down indifferently.

Chapter 21: The Vermillion Sword Hayden drew his sword as the douens swarmed him. Sprout hid under the Prince’s collar. The douens were fleshy little creatures scurrying on their backwards’ facing feet. It was difficult to tell which direction they were going in but they drew closer and closer to the Prince in a circle. He sliced one clean in half from the tip of its straw hat to its feet. The two halves fell to the ground and moulded together like soft clay until it reformed the creature. The Prince gasped.

"What was that?" "I think vault answered me. Look!" Aurora pointed. A book had appeared on the podium. Afraid to remove the book from its spot, the Empress pulled back the cover. Inside were pictures of all sorts of creatures, most looking more or less human. The writing, however was in the strange runes of circles and squares. Aurora laughed. "Could I possibly get a book on magical creatures in a language I can understand?" She asked. A bright flash of light caused both Devrim and Aurora to shut their eyes again, and a new book sat in place of the old. "Now it's just showing off," Devrim complained as he rubbed his eyes.

Aria was about to give up when she heard Morgan call from the other side of the room. She looked over to where his voice came from and rounded various shelves of books. In his hand was a large brown book with gold leaf that had mostly faded. The book was torn at the binding and some pages were slipping loose. Morgan set it down on a nearby table and opened it. On the first page Aria could see was a drawing of a human with what looked like dragonfly wings. What is this? “A book about mystical creatures.” He turned the page, “I’ve never seen this before.”

There was yet another disturbance that came from the opposite direction, then another and another. Seconds later, Damon realized he was about to be surrounded by the creatures again. There were eleven of them, meaning Carol’s ultimate sacrifice had killed off nineteen of them. Damon was hurt, angry and exhausted; all of which fuelled him at the moment to want to put up a fight. The creatures swam closer with the water making their thick fur glossy, sleek and all the more terrifying. Damon breathed heavily as he watched the creatures circle around him and his eyes had started to sparkle up yellow with lightning when there came a loud whirring noise.
