APRIL “He’s dying, April. He’s… he’s dying,” Ace had said shakily over the phone when he called a few minutes ago. I was about to join a charity team on an educational outreach when I got the call. But even though I was devoted to helping others, my soulmates came first, so I wasted no time hopping off the charity bus and getting into the first taxi I furiously flagged down. Now, about seven minutes later, I was running towards the revolving glass doors of St. Bernardine’s hospital.

“The doctor told me that you are doing pretty well. Are you feeling better already?” He shakes his head, and for a moment I’m worried that he might be feeling unwell but he seems to be stuck with the words I said before. “You know, this saddens me a lot. I just can’t believe that April would have done such a thing. And now they might be dead. How can you even think that they staged it? Hazel would have never agreed to that.” “Maybe April killed her too and ran away with her accomplice, did you think about that?” I ask him, clenching my teeth, but he just sighs, shaking his head again.

Kyle POV I don’t know how to describe the emotions that went through me when I heard and saw April as she made her way onto the road. I was running towards her before she even started to fall. I held her to me the same way I had when I had run to the clinic, Goddess that was only six hours ago. The whole trip back to Alpha Graham’s pack I held her tight rubbing my hand in small circles on her back. We’ve been back at the clinic for about an hour now. April is in a room on the second floor with only one door in or out. It helps the nerves to know that Brooke has been placed in a cell but I’m still not leaving April until she wakes up.

And if I could have my way, I wanted him to take them both down before they caused more chaos. Hearing that Hayden was returning felt like a shot of adrenaline. Suddenly, I had the energy to help the housekeeper clean up the mess in my apartment. I even ordered fresh flowers to brighten the place. While arranging the bouquet, my phone buzzed. The call was from the hospital. "Is this Keira Kay?" The voice on the other end was serious, clipped. "This is the Neurology and Cardiology Department at Seavora Central General Hospital. Two of your relatives have passed away."

At least now, she wasn't always something I wanted to add but I kept quiet. April laughed, making me stop in my tracks. Even her laugh was the same. I shook my head and scolded myself. Get a grip, Adrian. Ashley is dead. “Mr. Black. Is everything alright?” April asked, looking at me with concern. “Um, yeah. Everything is alright. Did you bring your notepad?” “Yes, sir.”

“I prefer dying on my own than being killed by the fucking bastards who deserve each other.” And without further ado, April threw herself into the ravines, breaking down the gesture of Leona and Adel. Adel tried to run to where April had thrown herself but Loeona stopped him immediately. “We have to do something, Leona! She-” “She’s dead now!” “No, she’s pregnant. We can do something for her!” “Shut the fuck up and listen to me!” “But-” “Now she’s dead, there’s nothing you can do. The company is all yours.”

Kyle tsked and said excitedly “I’m afraid it’s not negotiable. Each one of you is going to die in their own special, painful way. I’ve got the whole thing planned out already and I’m not going to ruin it so you could play the hero” He turned to me and said with a sick smile “Your time is up little sis. Guess I’ll have to start with the one I’m already dying to play with” He moved towards April and stood in front of her, causing my heart to sink. “You’re a delicious thing. I wonder how good you taste” he said with a playful smile. April paled and shook in her place but remained silent, trying to act brave. “Don’t you dare touch her Kyle. She has nothing to do with this” Diana said tearfully.

Nessa was shocked when she watched today’s news. The glass of milk that she just made earlier fell from her hand, slipped from her fingers and the only thing that rang in her head was what the reporter said. Keagan was dead. It was said that the famous businessman, Keagan was found dead in his huge house this morning. The news said the cause of his dead was poisoned. Someone had poisoned him, but at the same time the other news mentioned the possibility that Keagan had ended his own life, because his condition when he was found was rather… unpleasant to see.

And he looked at me giving me the stare which he did when he entered the house. Tyler got a call so he left after saying, "Talk and get to know each other. It has to be natural in front of grandfather."

I took a deep breath and hurled it out the window. Then I called the hotel manager and told him to cancel the birthday dinner that night and the reserved room. Since Adrian wanted to give Bella and her daughter a happy trip, they shouldn’t enjoy the romance I had painstakingly prepared. After doing all of that, I pulled open the hospital room curtains. The ache and reluctance in my heart eased somewhat beneath the wide, open view. I told myself that a relationship that had gone bad was nothing but trash and should be thrown away in time. Time would heal all my wounds.
