His canines gleamed, dripping for death. His wolf lunged. Roman’s was ready—A white winter breed. They collided in the center of the room—over me. Blood filled the air as Roman’s snarl vanished. My vision swayed from fear until darkness swallowed me. Even then, in the black, I prayed Hermes made it out alive. *** I don’t know how long I drifted, but my wolf stirred when I felt him close. His shadow loomed, already shifted back. His breath ragged, his body streaked with blood that wasn’t all his. His wolf had been savage, primal, something that should have terrified me.

He wants his mate to be a werewolf like him, that’ll understand pack life and pack politics, have all his pups, and play house. Not a stupid fox. Not me. “Well, we foxes are a different caliber than werewolves!” I shot back in frustration. I desperately look away from his body, trying not to be swayed by him. Instead, I breathe in his scent and I feel a bit antsy. “We’re not exclusive.”

It was a six-pointed star made of blackened gold. Such a peculiar design… Who would wear cufflinks like this? Perhaps if they could trace where the cufflink was made, they might find more clues. As Caitlin and Felix continued to analyze the case, a massive black figure appeared in the distance. It was a purebred black hunting dog raised by the Xenos family. Known for its fierceness and aggressiveness, the dog was usually kept in a cage. With sharp ears, Caitlin heard something behind her and instinctively turned around.

"Quick! Do a quick search! I want to know who had hurt my Howling Celestial Dog." He was furious when he smelled the scent of chili powder on the Howling Celestial Dog. Even though the Howling Celestial Dog was not a godly beast, it was an enchanted dog. It had been with him for thousands of years; it was always brave and had never let him down. Yang Jian could not bear it when he saw his loyal dog harmed by mere chili powder. As the saying went—watch out for its owner when you hit a dog. Yang Jian felt he was humiliated that someone had dared to hurt his dog.

She said and turned to lead the way as we walked inside. The shelter was smaller than the first one, but it was clean and well-kept. The owner greeted us warmly. "You must be Mr. Cross. Emily told me you were coming." He said, stretching out his hands to me "Yes. I'm looking for a husky and a pharaoh hound." I took his hand shaking it. "Follow me." He said, leading us to the back where the dogs were kept. Scanning the kennels I looked around for the husky. The pharaoh hound was there, lean and elegant, its ears perked up. But the husky was nowhere in sight.

He inhaled the cool air and tried to empty his mind. The inspector’s wife was out in the garden too. She was attending to the shrubs which had felt the full force of the storm. The family dog was busy chasing imaginary objects along the length of the garden. Gone were those days when owners named their dogs Moti or Sheru. With the advent of Hollywood in India, it was chic to call your dog Tommy, Jimmy, Joey or Woody. This particular dog was called Bruno and his futile chase ended as soon as he saw the sub-inspector entering through the gate. With his tail wagging, Bruno sniffed him and paced around him in circles. The sub- inspector seemed pleased with the way the handsome labrador welcomed

Her body was frozen. Cassidy had fainted and she was bleeding from her nose, her ears, and to make matters worse. Our pups had shifted, and are now growling at me. Both Channing and Canis are two labradoodle height of wolves. Channing, my pup with white hair, was now a wolf with one black spot in Channing’s left eye, while his fur was fully white. When my second pup with black hair was entirely white with one white spot on Canis right eye.

I ask when we stroll over the kennels. “No.” “You see?” I click my tongue, “this one’s a Siberian husky, his name’s Terry. This one, an Australian Dingo—her name’s Wild.” I pause, pointing to the last dog. “This one is a Rottweiler, her name’s Elizabeth.” “What?!” Spitfire swiftly jerks up her head to look at me. When she sees the smug look on my face, she curses underneath her breath, “dammit.” I have no idea why, but teasing her gives so much joy. And energy. “Her name’s Sky.”

“I am wherever she is. I’ll go and pick up my wife now.” He then hung up on Josh. Josh was going to remind Zachary that the Soxes had two vicious hounds. These dogs would usually just bark unless provoked, then they would charge ahead if someone were to break into the property. The Soxes would tie these hounds to a leash during the day, but they were free to roam during the night. Nevertheless, the gate to the yard would be locked, so the dogs would not go out and scare other people. These pets were perfect watchdogs.

I checked the dog’s gender and it’s a he. “Luke? Do you like the name Luke?” I was surprised when the dog got angry, he still looks cute though. “Easy boy. Easy!” I caressed his head to calm him down. “You don’t like the name Luke?” the dog got angry again. I chuckled at his cuteness. “How about Lux?” the dog barked angrily, “No? How about Light?” the dog jumped to me, I almost fell to ground. Good thing I kept my balance well enough. “You like the name Light?” the dog is wagging its tail, indicating that he liked the name Light. I get that he is from the Light Spirit but seriously? Light? Lux and Luke meant light too. I carried Light and picked up the bow before making my way towards Esco.
