STEP ASIDE EX-HUSBAND: THE RISE OF LIANA

STEP ASIDE EX-HUSBAND: THE RISE OF LIANA

Two weeks later, she found herself standing outside the glass doors of a modest nonprofit office, The Eden Initiative, one of the organizations that had just received a donation from Hale’s liquidation fund. The director greeted her with quiet awe. “He gave anonymously,” she said. “But when we saw the amount, we knew it had to be him.” Liana smiled faintly. “He’s not very good at anonymity.” Inside, children and volunteers filled the space with color and noise. The walls were lined with photos—renewable tech projects, scholarships, clinics. The donation had already begun reshaping their reach. Liana walked through the rooms slowly, her chest tight with conflicting emotions and admiration, so

He didn’t want the bond. That shit ended today. He turned back to walk to the middle of the atrium, to the librarian’s desk and pulled a piece of paper from his pocket. Miss Donovan was a vampire who had been the librarian here probably since the old building had been built. She knew everything about everything and would know that one of the books on his list had nothing to do with any of his subjects. “I need these books and others on those subjects,” he told her. Miss Donovan didn’t cower. She was probably one of the few people who didn’t reek of fear when he spoke to them. She took the paper from him without a word and started typing something on her computer.

My marriage was for money, his for vengeance

My marriage was for money, his for vengeance

"They're opening classes today. I want to send more readers." He picked up the phone on the nightstand and muttered, "Then let's find a way." --- 7:08 AM – Ferrer Foundation, Archive Hall The smell of used paper and donated books blended with the fresh smell of newly wrapped plastic. Volunteers organized stacks by age. Elira placed a Grade 3 reader into the hands of a teacher-turned-coordinator, who smiled with exhaustion that issued from days of movement, not defeat. Caelan came in from the back storage, a heavy binder clutched in her hand. "New inventory lists arrived. Someone donated a complete set of Banahaw mythology prints."

Contract With Big Brother-in-law

“The bookstore?” “Yeah,” I said quickly, feeling the need to justify myself for some reason. “There’s this place downtown, Cooper’s Books, that I’ve been meaning to check out. They have a great selection of used books, and I heard they just got a new shipment in, and—” I stopped myself, realizing I was rambling. “But it’s okay if you don’t want to. It’s probably boring for you.” Nicholas grinned. “Are you kidding? I love that place.”

"Wow, what a charmed life she’s living—pain, suffering, heartbreak—she’s got the full package! It’s almost like the author’s personal mission was to make sure the heroine never experiences a single moment of joy. Truly inspiring.,.. very disappointing this one is really exhausting to read

Let me first say that this author has kept me coming back to read the rest of the story. However, poor Kayla… can’t she catch a break? This is one of the better books I’ve read on here, but I’m starting to get frustrated by the 2 steps forward with Nicholas and Kayla for them to take 10 steps back.

But she’s dead. And I’ll never teach again. There’s nothing which can change this, no matter how hard I search for it. Doesn’t mean I can stop looking. *** I left The Illustrated Man behind, explaining its existence away. Emily’s father more than likely donated all her books to Arcane Delights, a used book store on Main Street run by Kevin Ellison, (where I still have over a hundred dollars trade-in credit I’ll never use). Whoever lived in the house on Hyland Avenue had purchased it, ignorant of its origins. When they’d finished it, they had discarded it.
