Draven pulled back just enough to look at him properly, taking in the red face and the wet eyes and the spectacular mess of someone who had been keeping things below the surface for three years and had finally run out of surface, and something in his own face did the thing it only did when it was Elias, the unmanaged thing, the expression with no performance in it.
"You're so ugly when you cry," he said.
"Pfft, like you are any different when you try pout," Elias countered.
Elias laughed. A terrible, wet, involuntary sound that he immediately tried to suppress and failed.
Draven held him tighter, because the laugh had done something to his chest that three months of desert survival had not m
