The glow of the Kyrexin-X flickered.
Kael stepped back as Dr. Ganner shifted, now focusing the torch on the dispersal valve. It hissed and cracked under the heat. A long, gurgling sound escaped as the internal pressure ruptured. A burst of pale-green vapor hissed into the air—but it dissipated harmlessly, the chemical neutralized by the flame’s intensity and the open space.
“Keep going,” Kael urged.
They took turns now, passing the torch between them, melting every core component, every nozzle, every tube, until what remained was a blackened, crumpled shell—charred and smoldering, stripped of all power.
