Aidan took long strides towards him, then slid both hands across the table to look down on him, his orbs taking on a deeper shade, red tainting the edges.
“I have a claim on her, de Vega,” he seethed.
Niquel smirked, standing from his chair, while Aidan raised himself to meet his gaze.
“I marked her,” he said, eyes flickering momentarily to show dark slits. “I bred her. I have claimed her in ways you cannot imagine…”
He rounded the desk, standing beside Aidan so he could say to his face, “… they are my treasure, Cardova. Dragons guard their treasures.”
