The Dragon's Stone
Seeing the anger in his eyes, I nervously respond, “Just that maybe Brehm was set up and didn’t take the stone. Is there another way into this room without a dragon?”
Taran pauses for a moment, “No, there isn’t a way in without a dragon. But someone could’ve let him in because they thought he would be safe.”
I look over at the dragon statues, “Did anyone say they let him hide here?”
Taran pushes me against the wall, towering over me. His harsh voice shows his displeasure, “You think a dragon took the stone? The stone, that gives us the ability to shift, reproduce, use magic, and a list of other things. Why would a dragon do that? Why would they want to eradicate their kind?”
