The second sketch features her arms going up, at the third, her palms turn over. Then the fourth sees her draw it back and before her, jagged icicles fromed from water hover. I replay the maneuver in my head, cataloguing it.

The drawer finally starts to move, but I have to use all my strength to open it. It opens in fractions. I yank the handle and fall backward, the drawer finally opening. “Bloody hell,” I let out, and wipe my hands on my sweatpants. I stand up and move to the drawer. The drawing is at the top of the pile and I grab it. There is a picture that catches my attention. I crouch down to see it better.

Where is a fucking sword when you need one? The vampire ignored Marc to focus his attention on Toni, staring at her with his freaky, red eyes. Her face went slack. Her eyes took on a glazed look.
