So as all are also ready they just take me in their car. Amar drives and I even get to sit next to him. It's so awkwardly silent while the drive but I enjoyed his driving. Ashley was right, Amar and I have things in common like our driving.

Everything blurred. Blood. Smoke. Pain. And then— Stillness. Upside down. The smell of gasoline. Somewhere, Gerald groaned. The driver wasn’t moving. Draven tried to breathe— Pain shot through his ribs. Warm liquid trickled down his forehead into his eyes. He forced them open. Through the cracked windshield— He saw the truck. Driving away. Slowly. Calmly. Like nothing had happened. Like they had just crushed a can on the road.

The engine woke with a deep, velvet snarl that vibrated through the chassis. They didn’t speak as Anton guided the car down the winding drive, past the gatehouse, and onto the narrow, hedgerow-lined country lanes. He drove not with frantic speed, but with a smooth, controlled aggression that ate up the tarmac. The world outside was a blur of green and grey, the morning mist curling away from the heated bonnet.

Hearing his motorbike, I quickly pretended to read my history textbook while secretly watching him. Behind Connor is his family's roofless army green jeep. Thann one of the triplets sat in the driver's seat; across from him was their beautiful cousin Kara, and at the back were the remaining triplet, Tanner, and Tant. I admired Kara's light golden hair blowing gracefully in the wind. She was like a model, tall and elegant.

After a long time passed to which my gums were cracked and bleeding on both sides, I finally felt the plastic give way and snap. With a grunt, Hope rubbed her wrists and muttered something incoherent. She pulled at the muzzle on her to no avail and looked to me with eyes asking permission. I spit blood out of my mouth and looked at her muzzle, trying to unbuckle it from her head. It came much easier with the two of us snapping the restraints. "Where are we?" Hope snarled out with venom. The sound of actual words spoken to me physically hurt my ears. For so long I had heard nothing but the sounds of screaming and moaning.

Wordlessly, she complied, settling into her seat with a quiet resolve that spoke volumes. I rounded the car and slipped into the driver's seat. The engine roared to life as I turned the key, the familiar hum filling the air as we set off towards the pack house. The drive to the pack house was a silent one. The only sound was the soft hum of the engine and the occasional rustle of leaves as we passed through the dense forest. Keilah remained lost in her thoughts beside me, her gaze fixed on the passing scenery.
