Arriving home late at night, he was soaked from the rain as he used his key to open the door and entered his home. The darkness in his house stemmed from the absence of lights, all switched off. Aware that it was late at night, he knew both his mother and Kelly were fast asleep. Upon entering, he headed straight upstairs to his room. Then, he switched on his side table lamp. He went to the bathroom to change his clothes before settling onto the bed. Seated on the bed, he observed the open windows with the night sky enveloped in darkness, occasionally illuminated by flashes of lightning after the rain. Then, he rose from the bed to close the open window.
