Chapter: 26. ****** A relief sigh escaped all five mouths when the rumbling stopped and the stones parted to reveal what looked like an old study room. A few of the bookcases have been overturned, and their contents are strewn across the dirty room. A smoking corpse lies in a black circle filling the room with its horrid stench. Mikey carried his lover and walked over into the strange open room that looked like a dungeon with different torture devices neatly lined out on both sides of the walls.

"No, it's just that the Lord asked me to ask for him." The voice still echoed in the cold and bloody hall. After keeping the Full Moon Blade, Chu Qi turned to walk to the stone door behind the hall. After she pressed the mechanism, a passage slowly opened on the floor, and a rotten smell immediately came to her nose. Stone steps were leading down. The light was dim inside, and only a few flickering torches hung on the wall. Chu Qi stepped in and the clicking of shoes echoed slowly. The dungeon was very damp, with the sound of dripping water and the squeaking of mice.

I wonder exactly how many were found as I follow Dimitri to the Dungeon. Dungeon is a pretty accurate word. It's a stone underground bunker made of stone. No matter how much it's cleaned, it's always foul smelling. The walls always look wet. The floors are the only thing that looks halfway clean and there's blood stains on most of them. I reach forwards and open the door but before I can gently close it behind me, a great gust of wind whips it out of my hand and it slams against the wall. As I look around the small room the sound of breaking dishes fills the air and my eyes are drawn to the young woman crouching down to pick it up. As I move closer the amulet grows warm in my hand, as if letting me know I had found who I was seeking.

She frowned. “How are we supposed to find anything in this mess?” I stepped further inside, my boots crunching over broken stone and brittle parchment. “The book isn’t ordinary,” I said. “Dark leather binding. Silver etchings along the spine. The symbol of the abyss burned into the front.” Ansel blinked. “That narrows it down to… one in a million.” I glanced at her over my shoulder. “Then start looking.”

Douglass accepted the challenge and looked back at Amethyst who had acted on an impulse and snatched the book from his hands. "There were two books — the book of Spells and the book of Prophecies. Why only this one?" Turning every page of the book, Amethyst investigated, narrowing her eyes at Douglass who never said anything else. Amethyst swiftly stopped turning the pages and stopped on one page that had her name written boldly at the top. Her eyes widened with unspeakable fear that attracted the attention of both Liam and Douglass. "M-my b…blood is needed for the…rebirth of the demon…?" She gasped and the book elegantly fell from her hands.

Following the map on the quest sheet, Matthew finally arrived at the dungeon’s entrance after an hour of searching. The entrance was not grand and seemed thousands of years old. Matthew had forgotten how exciting it was to explore a dungeon. “Well, let’s go in then.” Matthew said to himself. The stone slabs that made the dungeon were mossy and cracked. Cobwebs filled the ceilings while the floor was littered with dirt. Each side of the walls had an array of mysterious stones as a light source. Five people could fit in the hall, so it was quite easy to move in since Matthew came alone.

Sunlight poured in through the open ceiling, making the platform that overlooked the cliffside and its arcane looking circle, glitter like polished opalite. I started scouring the books that lined the shelves, pulling them with both my hands and magic, flipping through pages as my eyes darted between books. With a wave of my hand I sent a book on potion recipes and another on cursed objects back onto the shelves. A slight headache throbbed at my temples by the time I found what book I was looking for. There was no missing that strange symbol, the one Dain had showed us painted on the wall. I flipped to the beginning of the chapter and stared down at the word, ‘Illusion spells.’

Not merely suppressing. It was suffocating him. My eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, revealing fragments of my surroundings. Stone walls. Ancient. Damp. Cracked. Moss covered the lower portions, while water trickled down the walls and disappeared into a narrow channel carved into the floor. A dungeon. But not an ordinary one.
