And maybe it did. --- One evening, after a particularly grueling day, I found myself wandering outside the base. The air was cool, and the sky was painted in shades of purple and orange as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was one of those rare moments of quiet, when the world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for the next disaster to strike. I didn’t expect to find Ethan out there, leaning against the edge of one of the barricades, staring out into the distance. If compared to sizes on Earth, just the palm was enough to cover an entire country. The Earth groaned and creaked, as if awakening from a slumber of millennia. The fissures expanded, and with a final shatter, a massive figure leaped out of the chasm towards the sky. It looked down at the progressively crumbling planet in which it had slumbered for eons.
