Chapter 36: Like the Easter Bunny Threw Up Gazing down at the kitchen table strewn with Easter detritus, Cole laughed out loud. "It looks like the Easter Bunny threw up in here." At the kitchen counter, Jenny snickered. She opened the oven and peered in at the cupcakes baking inside. Shaking her head slightly, she closed the oven door and tapped in two more minutes on the timer before she returned to her seat across from Cole.

The two of them also prepared gifts for me. Jack also handed me an exquisite gift box. "Hope you like it." "Thank you, Jack," I thanked him with a smile. Seeing a delicately unique dress inside the box, I was a bit surprised and looked at him, "Did you design this?" "Yeah, just this one." Jack smiled. "Jack is so thoughtful!" After Jane finished praising them, she intentionally teased Ryan, "Mr. Frost, since you came to attend the housewarming party, I'm sure you brought a gift too, right?"

He said with no smugness. ​"You noticed I was watching you?" Frostina asked softly. ​"I don't think I've ever caught the fancy of any woman of any standing, talk more of the future Luna of the pack, or maybe I've been too busy to notice," Buck admitted, rubbing his jaw. ​"You probably were too busy," Frostina smiled a small, weak smile. ​Buck actually chuckled warmly, and Frostina admired his handsome face when he finally laughed as it transformed his rough features into something beautiful.

I added as she chuckled softly, stretching her arms as she softly groaned. “I’m glad you think so, and I honestly agree” she answered me, even though her cheeks started to turn pink, letting me know that clearly, she liked what she was hearing from me this morning. “Did the Easter bunny bring you everything you wanted?” She asked me, her eyes twinkling with mischief. And I raised an eyebrow, pretending to be thinking about her question. “Well, I did find you naked in bed this morning, so I’d say he did a pretty good job so far,” I spoke as Jenna laughed, rolling to her side as she opened her nightstand, picking out a small but beautifully wrapped gift.

Suddenly, the old fox glanced down at her and casually tossed her a carrot with a smirk playing at his lips. “Tell me, little bunny—am I the most handsome man you've ever met?” She caught the carrot and smiled fearlessly. “Sorry, old fox, you're not. Your ex-assistant is just a tiny bit more handsome than you—the one who fell from grace, Frost.” The old fox snorted dismissively, full of disdain. “A mere pretty face. What’s so good about that?” She took a bite of the carrot and replied, “It’s because he’s just a pretty face, that’s why he’s good-looking!”

But how could a faulty freezer, left unused for years, still be capable of freezing a living, breathing Luna, who was a warrior with top-tier combat ability, to death? As the discussions raged on, another revelation surfaced. Someone claimed that Kenneth had done this for the woman he loved, that he had frozen me to death just to make room for his true beloved. Kenneth was furious as he read through the online posts. He snapped pictures of the accounts and the slanderous comments, sending them all to his secretary. "I hope you're not the one stirring up trouble behind my back!" His secretary only replied with an exasperated emoji and said nothing else.

Raina mutters, and I nod at how right she is. At one point, Zephyr spots a rabbit darting through the underbrush. With a quick nod to Jack, he breaks off, his movements silent and fluid as he tracks the animal. Moments later, he returns, the rabbit dangling limply in his grasp. We pause briefly to share the catch, tearing the meat into small portions and passing it around. It’s a small gesture, but it reinforces the bond between us, the unspoken promise that we’ll look after each other no matter what.

She never did change. She placed one of the bunnies in his arms and cotton candy in his hand then she began walking to the Ferris wheel. Shawn looked at the bunny in his arm as he followed her. It was green in color. Smiling, he increased his steps and ate off the cotton candy. A sweet sensation rushed through him and as much as he tried to convince himself that it was the candy's doing, he knew that what gladdened him was the fact that Jade never forgot his favorite color.

“Cookies? Bunny cookies?” “Yes, exactly that!” Lily chuckled, holding them just close enough for him to grab one. “Go on, have a bite!” His tiny hands reached out, grabbing a cookie eagerly. The chocolate melted in his mouth, and a delighted squeal escaped him. “Yum! More, please!” Annabelle allowed herself a soft smile, watching the little moment of joy. She gently turned back to Richard and Jack. “Alright, we’ll leave these two,” she said. “Come on, Dad—we need to go to the lowest basement.”

“Slow and steady, Jack. You’ve got this.” Yvonne stood back, while Lily followed his brother's progress, putting in unwanted suggestions since she had already succeeded - a gesture that made Jack break focus and turn to ask her to be quiet. Watching the three of them, Yvonne's heart swells at the sight. There was something so natural and beautiful about seeing Micheal with his children, and it made her feel blessed to be part of their lives. Eventually, Jack had caught a bunny which he exchanged for Lily's Dolphin.
