Desire (Wish, Book Two)
I throw up again, although there’s nothing left inside my stomach.
“Here,” instead of handing me a glass of cold water, Dr. Brown is shoving a bunch of sweet-smelling flowers towards me. “Eat these.”
“N-No,” I try to push her hand away, weakly, my insides quivering in pain, but she grabs my jaw and forces my mouth open with her fingers, stuffing in the flowers, her voice sharp.
“Chew! This will help!”
Her behavior is so uncharacteristic that I find myself obeying. Considering how bad my mouth tastes right now, I don’t even feel the texture of the flowers. It’s like chewing rubber and when I swallow it, I gag.
