The dinner was so delicious, we had picked food up at this place multiple times since I started staying at Jackson’s but eating in just felt different in a sense. “You know what, I’m stuffed.” Jackson says as he opens up the restaurant door for me to walk out, I laugh walking out into the fresh air with a smile on my face. “But I do have to say, that waffle does look delicious.” He mutters turning back to look at the photo of the waffle on the window, I smile looking back at him knowing how much this dude could put away if he tried.

Jackson just responded with a grunt. Jade got the housekeeper to prepare breakfast and Jackson began to wash up. After he was done, the housekeeper had set up his breakfast in the dining room. Jackson sat down at the table, lowered his head, and ate his breakfast. Jade continued watching her son and asked herself, ‘Has Jackson lost weight?’

Peyton asks, louder than she should. “Well,” Eli moves closer, “I’m glad you asked. Tonight, we’ll dine on the best American cuisine accompanied by the coldest beer served in frosty mugs.” Peyton raises an eyebrow. “Twin Peaks,” Jake informs, his eyes searching my face for a reaction. “I love that place!” Peyton cheers. “We have one in Des Moines. They have great appetizers.” I find Carson’s eyes still on me. I smile, letting him know I’m not offended by the busty theme of the restaurant.

There were large holes in the walls which turned out to be exposed compartments with lighting and even more seating for the guests. They made their way down and Born helped her to be seated at his side. There was a range of cuisine spread out on the long table and a large feast below. Eustace and Lori, amongst others, came up to give their greetings and blessings to Mel and Bjorn. Annie came after a while and left with a promise of tending to her things in her new home. Families and other guests came up with gifts and greetings for Mel especially and the attention left her dazed, acting as a nice diversion from the unexpected incident.

Suddenly, I thought of Christopher. In the next second, a familiar figure came out of the private room next door—speak of the devil. It turned out Christopher was also at this restaurant. This was my only chance. He was the only one who could help me. He was disgusted by me, but that wouldn't change the fact that I'd saved him. I'd also genuinely been in love with him. Because of Jenny's words, I had to take lessons on dining etiquette every day. She rose with him, letting him lead. “Everyone!” Jackson’s voice rang out, drawing the attention of everyone in the restaurant. Heads turned toward them. “I’m Jackson Samaniego, CEO of Diamond Entertainment. And this beautiful woman with me is my secretary—and my girlfriend.” His voice was proud as he shared their relationship openly. Applause erupted in the restaurant, making Jackson grin even wider. Bree just stared at him, shocked. Her mind struggled to process what he had just done. She could see in his eyes how much he wanted what they had, and that assurance made her heart fall completely for Jackson.

She declined and asked if there was any real food. “I’m sure you’d only find raw meats and a few vegetables in the kitchen. That’s precisely what Jacob eats,” Jackson replied with a shrug. He knew how much his twin brother loved steaks. “Are you sure you don’t want to order pizza? Ice cream or something?” he added before Anna left the room. “No, I will be done in a few minutes,” Anna answered as she left the room, leaving Jackson to sort out the documents and the files that had fallen earlier.
