Ebook Readers Novels & Stories

“I know, everyone is into the electronics and e-readers. But for dragons like me, there’s nothing better than a book.” “Dragon?” Cookie asked shooting off a few text messages. Gertie laughed. “There are two types of avid readers. The bookworm, they devour books. Need them almost as much as they need to breathe.” “A friend’s daughter is like that.” He said picturing Camille in his mind. “I can’t think of a time that she doesn’t have at least one book with her. Physical, paper book. And at least one e-Reader. She loves to read so much, she reads the damned encyclopedia.”

In the next few days, her life is going to change forever. As she rips off the wrapping paper, I tell her, “It’s fully charged, and I uploaded your favorite version.” A smile spreads across her face when she realizes what it is. Shannen enjoys reading so much. But her electronic book is so old I am surprised it still works. “Not only is it the latest model, but it also has a back-light for reading in the dark.” I brag. She turns on the e-reader and I go to close the curtains. I sat next to her to show her how it works. She squeals with delight as the device lights up. I could see Shannen’s beaming smile. I knew then I had chosen a perfect present for her.

“What are you reading?” “It's a book. An ebook.” I eyed him warily. “Know what that is?” For a brief second, I wondered if being a grim reaper meant he did not understand how the human world worked. Because sometimes…he came across as aloof. And very weirdly, I found it cute. He cocked his brow. “A kind of electronic book?” I nodded. “So you know, then?” “Not initially. I just kinda got creative with it.” He cut me a wink. “Easy peasy.”
