Mary Redferne As I entered the café and spotted Judith waiting for me, a warm smile spread across my face. I rushed over to her and enveloped her in a tight hug, feeling a surge of joy at seeing her again. I loved this woman. She always makes me so happy. As we settled into our seats, Judith and I ordered our favourite coffee and pastries. "Mary, I still haven’t processed the fact that you are a married woman now!" Judith exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she leaned in for a hug. I embraced her tightly, feeling a rush of affection.

Marie was usually very self-assured and confident, so it was a wonder that she was blabbering so much. “Well … um.” “Who is it? Do I know her?” “Uh, yes. It’s Miss Christina Carter.” Marie delivered her bombshell, at last, leaving both Nora and Dennis gaping at her in surprise.

His friendly smile put me at ease. “So…first day at college and you are already in trouble. You must be a bad girl,” Eddie winked. “No way! I was just running late, that’s all,” I giggled nervously. “I am joking. My name is Eddie, as you heard Ms. Barns say. What’s your name?” Eddie asked me. “Marina,” I replied. “Marina, what a beautiful name. It suits you.” Eddie smirked. “Tha…thanks,” I stammered. Ugh, why did I have to be so shy about everything? Eddie didn’t seem like the kind of guy who likes a mumbling idiot.

Diego chuckled lightly. “you’re never going to let me live that down” I huffed and if I had the strength id roll my eyes for effect. “I’m sure your fully informed of what Maria had to do to survive. Maybe some anti- depressants and sleeping pills may help her?” Diego questioned all humour gone.

After saying that Mary said goodbye to Eden because it was getting late and it was time for Ciara to have dinner. Meanwhile, after Mary came out of her room, Eden's heart became more and more uncertain because the woman said that her married life seemed to be perfect. Full of happiness and very much different from what she was thinking right now. "How are you today?" Eden ignored the stiff greeting without any intention of turning her head towards the door. After all, even without her seeing it she already knew who was standing there with piercing eyes staring at her. "If I ask, you have to answer me, Ed." Aciel growled stifled.

Drey decided to let her go, and returned to the conversation with his high school buddies. Marie began to walk as fast as her legs could. She was having a mini panic attack, and she needed space fast. She didn’t know where the toilet was located, so she asked a waiter who pointed her in the direction of the toilet. As she walked past people, she was getting a lot of death stares from other women, most likely owing to the fact that she was with the most eligible bachelor in town, but she couldn’t care about that right now.

"Marie, I thought I'd find you over here at the cookies. Are you stuffing some into your handbag for later?" My eyes fly to Dr. Girard's face, afraid he's overheard us talking about him, but he doesn't seem upset. "Deke." Marie stands on her tiptoes and brushes her lips over her old friend's cheek. "You know me too well. I've gotten a little classier, though. I'm eating a bunch of cookies now and hoping I can sweet-talk someone into boxing up more for me to take home." "I'm pretty sure we can arrange that." He drapes arm over her shoulder. "So . . . what do you think of my pet project?"

Marie pouted, clearly dismayed at the botched surprise. “But we have not eaten yet. We were waiting for you to arrive. I thought it would be nice to dine together." Feeling guilty at their thoughtfulness, Wyoming decided to give in and join Marie for breakfast. She also thought of giving her assistant a bonus. She looked back over her shoulder and called Teddy. “Are you in a hurry, Teddy? Please, come inside for a while for breakfast.” It was a delight to see the change in Marie’s expression after she invited Teddy.

I couldn't help the bitterness rolled my tongue. "Everything will be fine, Edward," Maria said softly. I hung up and smoked a few more times before dropping the cigarette into the ashtray... Maria Lawrence. My college friend who dropped out of college and started her detective career and earned success in it.
