" I remained unresponsive. I simply awaited the conclusion of her statement. She straightened, as if she had at last discovered ammo or a purpose. "My dear, he is a man who is cursed. No woman can be his partner. You will eventually be thrown out like trash. And when that occurs... Her grin grew as she drifted off. "Well, let's just say you'll regret getting into his bed." I just looked at her for a moment before I started laughing. "That once more?" Shaking my head, I said. "You should really quit talking to yourself in these tiny ways, sweetie. You seem to be beginning to believe them.

I didn’t want to become another hot topic for the lecturers today. Instead, I grabbed a baggy top and jeans, threw them on, and picked up my books. Then my phone rang. It had slid under the bed earlier, so I bent to pick it up. It was Cassian. I stared at the screen for a second before swiping the red button and immediately hung up on him. Then I saw a dozen of messages. Maybe more. I opened the message thread and began scrolling. His first text read, “Drasa, I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I didn’t mean to call you a slut. It was a slip of the tongue.”

Jenny crumpled to the floor, the shock too much. Her quivering finger stabbed toward Zoe. "You vile witch! Guilty as sin!" Zoe flinched, guilt shadowing her eyes. Jenny surged up, fury unleashed, and cracked a slap across Zoe's cheek. "You knew you were diseased. Why drag Isiah down? You deserve to rot in hell!"

Combining with my shock as I struggled to process what just happened, “Did you just… did you just cuss at me?” I asked, my voice almost a whisper due to surprise. This was Serena. Serena never cussed. She never used cuss words! She would even wince and frown when people around her used them. They totally didn’t sit well with her. And today she was… she was cussing out? At me??

The particles drifted into the wind and disappeared over the cliff. I frowned immediately. Cassian looked down at himself calmly. “Looks like I don't have much time left.” “What is this?” He lifted his eyes back to me. “You’re the only one that can see me because of what’s inside you.” Confusion crossed my face immediately. “What’s inside me?” Cassian stared directly into my eyes for a long moment before speaking. “Aurelian… you are a cursed one.” The wind around us became colder. I frowned harder. “Dane said that too.”

She felt it was her responsibility, but she also knew she couldn't fight them alone, but she needed help from others, she thought. She used her curse which was "cursed speech". She was able to make something happen with just a word. If she was to say die to anyone they would die instantly, but that depends on how strong the soul of the person was. She used her cursed speech to curse three swords, that can be used to kill anyone that was cursed, with a stab in the chest. She wanted to do more but she couldn't, the cursed energy was too heavy for her mortal body to behold. The three she did take a toll on her body and she lost her voice. She wasn't able to speak or talk again since that day.

Lunaris whispered behind him, “This is what will happen if you go to her.” He pressed his palms against the ground, trembling violently. “You’re lying.” “You know I cannot lie.” His vision swam. He blinked hard, but the image remained, Sienna sprawled across the courtyard stones, her hair fanned out like a dark halo, her eyes glassy and empty. The curse surged. His back arched violently as agony ripped through him, white-hot and merciless. His claw tips tore from his fingers. His veins erupted with molten pain. He collapsed onto his side, struggling to draw breath.

My chest was overwhelmed with a whirlwind of emotions, but I didn't let it show on my face. I closed my eyes and mustered up the courage to ask the question. "Even if I'm cursed, would you still like me?" My voice was low and hoarse, tinged with sadness and a glimmer of hope. "Huh?" Selena was stunned for a few seconds, as if my words had caught her off guard. She stammered, "You... you're cursed?" Although I felt a pang of hurt, I quickly masked it. "Yeah." Selena's expression immediately turned distressed, her features scrunching together and her voice trembling as she asked, "Wait, so you're actually cursed? How is that even possible?"
