“You’re already the most interesting wife I’ve ever had.” “How many have you had?” He looked at me. “None. That’s the joke.” I turned away, watching the city blur by through the window. The streets of Manhattan looked soft from this high up. Like everything below was part of a world I didn’t belong to anymore. “Where are we going?” I asked. “To your new home.” “Is there a dungeon?” “If you’re lucky.” I glanced back at him. “Funny. I thought you were the type to lock wives in glass boxes.”

One Month Later The new mansion was in Westchester, far from any major residential houses but close enough that they weren't completely isolated in an emergency. Moving day was organized chaos. The driveway of the new estate, which Maria had already christened The Glass Castle, was filled with unmarked trucks. Movers that had been thoroughly vetted were carrying boxes into the house with clan warriors' precision. Cassie stood in the center of the living room, holding a tablet and a latte. She was wearing leggings and an oversized sweater that couldn't quite hide the small, round bump of her pregnancy.

"The mountain doesn't care about our victory it only cares about the work." As we walked down the path toward the villa the white stone of the house glowed like a beacon in the twilight. It no longer felt like a fortress or a trophy. It was a home. The "Tower of Glass" was a ghost, a nightmare that had been chased away by the rising sun of a reality.

Faith listens but she is very quiet, I guess we all have a lot to think about knowing tomorrow will be the deciding battle. Just when the sun starts to go down I can see Dandion emerge in the distance. I recognize the glass castle but the rest of the city has changed immensely. All around the walls, there are huge holes covered with spikes. The walls themselves have guards on them and machines to shoot all kinds of weapons. Everywhere I look people seem to be busy training or preparing. I see weapons made of light and dragons with armor everywhere. My friends certainly have been busy while I was gone.

Not gold, I realize upon further inspection. Alabaster walls and foundation… but at least half of the castle is made of glass. We roll through a heavily armed gate. To my relief, the guards don’t have glowing green eyes. Maybe the castle is safe. It’s wishful thinking, because as the car passes beneath the castle itself, driving into a wide underground room, and the driver cuts the engine, Cole turns to me, his expression stern and serious. “Don’t talk to anyone from this moment forward. Don’t trust anyone but Georgia, Declan, and Luke. Not the maids who will be tending to you. Not the people you’ll meet in my court. No one. Understand?”

I have to keep myself together. I exhale slowly, opening my eyes and letting my gaze travel around the room, looking for a good memory to replace the difficult ones. I take in the stone walls, which are cold to the touch in the depths of winter. And the insane wall of windows that look over the small, flat roof garden outside. The windows are unique, the glass extending at the top to become part of the roof like a greenhouse – a feature that makes this the sunniest, most pleasant room in this dank castle in the winter months. A feature, I think, that Auden’s mother incorporated. Apparently, she loved the sun – couldn’t be without it.

[Rose's P.O.V.] Jane showed me around the castle. She had medium-length, caramel-colored hair and a pair of tiny dimples. She was a feast for the eyes, but I soon found myself stunned by the tour. I could not imagine a building like this to have conference rooms, recreation centers, restaurants, libraries, kitchens, gyms, laundries, underground wine cellars, and dozens of other kinds of facilities. There was even an art gallery filled with sculptures and famous paintings, and this was just where the members of Sunset Pack usually lived.

I don't really care about loosing any of these things, most of them can be replaced pretty easiely, but I would be heart broken if one of these items was to fly through the air and kill a child, or a member of my pack. I check on the warriors who are boarding up the windows, thankfully the castle doesn't have any glass over its windows, only the other building within the walls. There are still a lot of windows, but most can be reached from the ground or a small folding ladder. The warriors are making good progress, so I leave them to their work.

“Princess Eve? Princess Eve? Where are you, my sweet princess?” All seven of them find themselves in a castle hallway and it shock most of them to see the glass like castle. The ground nor the wall was made from glass like material and right at the corner was what seems to be a woman with ivory hair and in white dress walking towards them in a goody smile.
