I look at the person who spoke. “Mom!” I yelled when I saw my parents and Shayne. “Congratulations, Bavina,” Mom and Dad says, I hug them. “Grandma!” Pauline yells. “Your hair is getting long, Bavina!” Shayne says that made me laugh. We’ve been through a lot, happiness, problems, pains, achievements, rejections, and we ended up to what God wrote for our story. We ended up with each other despite the pains we gave to each other.

Then, she said, “You know what this sounds like, right?” Amelia narrowed her eyes. “Don’t say it.” Maya grinned. “Enemies to lovers.” Amelia groaned. “Maya, I swear—” “Just saying,” Maya sang. “It’s a classic trope.” “Not our trope,” Amelia shot back. Maya giggled. “We’ll see.” Amelia rolled her eyes. “Anyway,” she said, “enough about him. I have other news.” “Ooh,” Maya said. “Spill.”

For the past few weeks I had been completely obsessed with p**n. Not the soft, romantic stuff I used to watch with my husband Mark. No. I had fallen headfirst into the rawest, nastiest, most cliché videos I could find. The ones where a bored housewife gets absolutely destroyed by the plumber, the delivery guy, the pool boy, or any random stranger who shows up at the door while her clueless husband is somewhere else in the house. Humans loved those stories—as long as they stayed in books and bedtime. The moment a story breathed, the moment a pair of eyes glinted from a tree line or a shadow stepped out of the corner of a room, humans did what humans do best when they’re afraid.

I nibbled the head with my tongue and heard him growl loudly. ‎I felt him jerk and then he came, hot, thick, and down my throat. ‎"Swallow it all, honey," he ordered. ‎And I obeyed, taking every last bit of it.
