The chamber opened before us with a silent gasp, its walls bathed in an ethereal glow that seemed to pulse with the heartbeat of the earth itself. My eyes adjusted slowly, drawn to the center where a tome lay shrouded in the ghostly light-a beacon of ancient knowledge amidst the encroaching darkness. Eden stepped forward, his lean frame casting a long shadow as he approached the pedestal upon which the book rested.

" Darkness. It came down upon her with the same force as Lily like. Her wrists hurt, bound so tightly the rope burned into flesh. Coppery, rich, fleshy, and warm was the flavor of the blood on her lips—warm. The last she had been doing was pushing away hands that had clutched at her, the instant of blindness of what had struck her head before the world went dark. And there she was, now. Butchered an animal. Knees thudding onto cold marble floor, scorching up her legs. She struggled against the dizziness trying to overwhelm her, stumbling.

Jimmy reached back feeling for the bottom step and slowly sat down, although it felt like he was falling backward. He held onto the book as though he had just discovered a great treasure. "Damn," he mumbled as he stared at the words. He blew out a breath he had been holding and still couldn't move from the steps, but the words on the pages began to open doors in his mind.

I looked up at him a fire in my eyes. I pulled the dagger from Kha's chest and plunged it into my heart. "In the this life and the next" I said as I looked at Kha. His eyes were wide with shock and recognition. Akenos roared wildly in the background. "I will find you and I will make you suffer for this!" he screamed at me, I could feel the life force slowly slipping from me. As the darkness began to pull me under Hates appeared. "Well, well Lesi this was not whom I expected to see" He mischievous eyes glinted.
