Editing A Novels & Stories

My hand gripped the printed proposal sheets so hard the edges crinkled. I turned to Jeff, the senior project coordinator, and asked angrily, “What is this? What happened to the original draft?” Jeff looked tired too. He rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. “Elizabeth made changes late last night. She said it needed to be more ‘realistic.’” He shrugged. Of course, he knew what we had was better. I stared at the pages. The only parts that still carried my ideas were the actual designs. Everything else had been watered down into something mediocre and common.

So chapters one through thirty have been edited. I always try to edit every day or every other day , but some times, that doesn't work out, so.............watch out. I've edited chapter 31 & 32 but its still in review, it should reflect in a few hours. Wow!, that was a mouthfull. I hope this did not confuse you further. Love, Bee.

Not panicking. Not jumping to conclusions. Just… thinking. “Early start.” Rose didn’t need to turn around. Jason. “Yes,” she replied. “I had to check something.” He stepped closer, his presence calm but observant. “What did you find?” Rose hesitated for a second. Then she turned the screen slightly toward him. “This.” Jason looked at it carefully. No rush. No reaction at first. Just quiet attention. “It was edited,” she said. “After submission.” Jason didn’t respond immediately.

Some changes were made during review. Leah read it twice. Some changes. Not I changed them. Not Margaret changed them. Still afraid. Still careful. Still not useless. Leah passed the tablet back. “Can we protect her?” Daniel answered honestly. “Not completely.” “Can we avoid making it worse?” “We already did by not accusing her.” Leah nodded. That would have to be enough. For now. At seven, another revised version arrived. This one included Leah’s correction as an attachment rather than altering the main text. Margaret had not surrendered the minutes, but she had been forced to let Leah’s objection travel with them.

"I read somewhere that when you write, you are telling a story to yourself," I explained. “When rewriting, the most important thing is to cut out everything that is not part of the story.That's what we editors do. We help authors to understand what is not part of the story.” "And you are going to help this author? "She handed me the manuscript. "Impossible," I put it back in the envelope, "This one you can return with a standard rejection letter.”

I’m deeply sorry. Thank you for your patience and continued support. From here onward, I’ll be updating the edited(real) version of the chapters and have the old ones deleted (I hope that’s possible) and I’ll do my best to ensure it doesn’t happen again. and I closed my eyes. ~*~ “Go direct! You can do that!” Win cheered which makes me smile. A small gesture like that makes my tiredness relieve. “Gosh! The editing part is so exhausting!” Mark complained while stretching his arms and neck. “Yeah, I know. Let’s ace this film because the submission is too near” I answered him while looking at my computer’s monitor and currently editing a scene. We have a delegation method where all the workspaces and tasks are divided to finish this on time and everyone will have an equal distribution of tasks.

Ravine's POV I've given him the phone wherein I recorded their little show. He was panting as he places a passed out Miss Kitty on the bed and proceeds to edit it right away. "There. You can send it now." He edits it under a minute. He even blurs the faces and changes the voice. I didn't even know an app like that existed in my phone until he discovered it and did a winder for me. He is truly mesmerizing. "Ah, I'm still tired." The boy says, his face scrunched up. I open my arms and smile at him.

I pressed my tongue to the roof of my mouth as a salty tang filled my mouth. Turning to me, Phoebe shrugged it off. “You were here as I edited it, and you saw me editing it.” She raised both brows. I pinched my nose. “Yes, I did. But I wanted. You know..” My tongue tied as I tried to explain it. I should have made the touches as she was editing it. “Thank you.” “You are welcome.” Phoebe returned to her work. “Which floors are you designing?” I questioned.
