(Elara's POV) The morning chill clung to me as I waited near the Thorne Pack administration building. Madeline Bell's lingering presence from yesterday still unsettled me. Her bold claims about being Lucian's future mate had left a hollow feeling in my chest that I couldn't quite explain. Edward Carter arrived with the luxury SUV, breaking into my thoughts. "Ready for Silver Creek, Coordinator Rivers?" I nodded, climbing in to find Lucian already seated inside, reviewing territory documents. Emily, my silver-weakened wolf, instinctively tucked herself smaller inside me as we settled into the journey.

"MIRRA!!" Carrie screams as she races into the kitchen and tackles me at the knees. I laugh as I pick her up and bounce her little.
