Vivian nodded slowly, then turned her head back to the television. She glanced at it for a while then absent-mindedly asked, “Can you give me two other books? I’ve finished reading the last one.” She got up and brought the book that she had previously borrowed from his study, which was near the rocking chair by the window. “Here, I’m giving this back to you,” she said, reaching her hand out and giving it to him.
Edward reached out to take it without a second thought. However, before he could touch it, she withdrew her hand and frowned. “Your hand’s wet.”
