“Do it, now.”
Nodding, the small boy holds the scissor tightly on one hand, gulping. He opens his palm and places one blade of the scissor, blinking tears away from his face. He looks at Eleanor, looking for strength. The little girl offers it almost immediately, smiling and nodding. Silas nods back, closes his eyes, and slides the blade on his palm. Eleanor didn’t have time to process the way the blood spurted, the way it hit both of their faces, making it look like a messier crime scene than it already was.
