Eve’s POV I slept poorly the night before the security team arrived, my dreams fragmented and dark, filled with images of my mother's face and the sound of a baby crying somewhere I could not reach. Devin held me through it, his arms wrapped around me in the darkness, his voice a steady murmur against my hair.

The journey ahead would be fraught with danger, but with a newfound hope flickering in their hearts, Evie and Liam knew they had to try. She moved out of the pack for graduation. Later she found a job with humans and started living with them. She was part of the pack but living with humans.

"I'm so happy!" Evelyn squealed as she hugged Willow. Willow laughed and hugged her too. "We've finally graduated! I feel like crying!" Eve said and she rolled her eyes. "You don't need to be dramatic," Jude, Evelyn's younger brother said. "Just because you're still in high school doesn't mean you should step on my happiness," Eve scowled at him and he rolled his eyes before walking away.

The way his fingers trembled when he touched the inked outline.

Eve’s eyes snap open, returning back to their normal color as her eyes roll forward. “You should have listened to your uncle when you had the chance Remiel.” An evil smile spreads across her face as she releases the power she had been gathering, blasting it at me like a spear.
