Calder stood there holding the gifts from the annual gala, looking at us in confusion. "Why didn't you let me know you weren't coming to the gala?" Calder had always been the type to worry excessively, someone who loved gossiping about employees’ private lives. There were only fifteen minutes left until those five minutes arrived. I had no patience to deal with him. I was about to brush him off with a few perfunctory words and send him away. Elan’s expression suddenly changed. He grabbed a chair and slammed it into Calder, knocking him unconscious.
