My chest warms. "Now, go wake Abuela up and –" They get one thing right on TV about emergency rooms. The doors always slam open when there's an emergency. And tonight is no different. The double doors smash into the walls, capturing my attention immediately. The rain-soaked EMTs line the gurney, looking for the eyes of a doctor. And I'm on call. "Leo, I gotta go, okay, I love you so much." I hang up before hearing his reply, trying not to imagine the sad look he'll give the phone when it's disconnected.

As he walks through the door, he hears one paramedic telling the other to just move the car to a different location. Eric walks past the reception area and straight into the emergency room. Two doctors, standing at the inside counter, quickly rush to attend to Ally. Eric places her on the vacant hospital bed and forces himself to step away from her so the doctors could get closer to attend to her. He watches as they check her vitals and call instructions out to nurses who start rushing to do as they are told. As each day passed, the paramedic station had become a place of unexpected dramas. Not dramas like that of Barbie and Lewis, or Derek and Lewis. These were medical related dramas. Emergency and chaos kind of drama. It had been three days since Lewis left Derek's house and those three days were occupied with nonstop work. One moment, Lewis was sitting at the back of the ambulance with Annie, lazily discussing whether cold pizza counted as breakfast. The next moment, calls erupted with overlapping voices about a gas leak at a daycare center two streets away.

LARA The emergency room was a mess when I got there. There was blood everywhere. Doctors were yelling. Nurses were running around. Patients on stretchers were lined up in the halls, some screaming, some crying, some just sitting there looking really scared which was actually worse because when people are silent like that it usually means they're really hurt.

The other doctor and I split them equally, he toured one half and I toured the other half. On that fateful day, I took the students in my own half to see the blood storage area and I locked one of the students in the Ice cold room of below zero degree Celsius accidentally, reason being I didn’t want to miss the premiere of Jake Reid’s latest movie. I know, girl, and that is the only reason I am getting up. "I will be out in a minute, Emily." I took my time putting on my shoes before gathering enough strength to stand up. I marched briskly to the emergency room. That is where most cases are treated before being discharged or transferred to special wards. I didn't want to call you because of what had happened, but there is nothing I can do." She said in a single breath, panic in her eyes.

"The emergency room is usually flooded with emergency cases from Friday to Saturday night because of the - "But I am a general doctor. Are there no fellows? I haven't specialized. What if something goes wrong in there? Claire stared into my eyes hard. "You are the only doctor on call right now. If you do not get that man in there and fix him up, none of us can. That means, in clear terms, that we should not try to do anything but just let him die. Good. I'm okay with that if you are." She stressed every word while looking at me like she wanted to smash my head against the wall.

Annastacia immediately ran to the emergency room. The emergency room is like a night market that is full of visitors, many patients are bleeding and lying on the patient bed. She doesn't know what traffic accident happened, what is clear is that the collision was very severe and took many victims. "Okay, which one can still be saved?" Annastacia asked practically, she didn't want to chase a life that was already at the limit of life and death for nothing. "This woman's vital signs are still good, Doc," said the nurse in charge of the emergency room while handing over the patient data file in question.
