Something in my chest tightened as I watched her lean in, whisper something that made Ethan laugh softly. There was a glint of something flirtatious in the way she touched his arm, casual but not accidental. I blinked, trying to place her face. And then it clicked. Emily. I had seen her before, on business covers, in financial news. The daughter of Richard Langford, a well-known financial mogul. Brilliant. Groomed for power.
