She shrugged, but kept laughing. We both walked out way down the hallway and into the living room. Emily stood beside the window, staring above, as though she were counting the stars. Her lips moved, muttering words only she could hear. Her side view was everything I couldn't forget, she never changed a bit.

Translation: I looked pretty, but fat. The fundraiser pics. I looked hot. I felt hot. But of course, the first thing she zeroes in on is the nonexistent bloat in the photo.
