I Will Surrender The Position As Empress Novels & Stories

But I had a feeling that Dante wasn't the type of person who would knock. When I opened the door, I realized that my prediction was right. Annie beamed at me. And she brought food. She was officially my favourite person in this book. We ate and chatted. Annie knew gossip related to the royal families. She would lower her voice whenever she talked about them. It was strange to hear the royal scandals from a young girl, but I needed information. "Basically, the empress wants her son to be the next emperor?" I probed. "Yes, but the fifth prince is young and his achievements barely match Prince Dante." She said to me, "However, Prince Dante is too cruel."

She yelled. His eyes went wide at her proclamation even more so when she placed her swords and uttered her next words. "To you King Nicolas, I surrender my swords, my life and my loyalty. I am yours to command in life and until death." He looked from her to the army and peasants that filled the courtyard, embarrassment slowly growing inside of him. What was she thinking? He was no king. All of a sudden, all the other men dropped to their knees, dropping their swords and making the proclamations, the words passing over the crowd like a wave that even from beyond the walls, he heard the chant.

For some random reason, she couldn’t read their minds even if she wanted to. ‘This is frustrating. I can’t read them like a book. Shit! I took my ability for granted. Now, I paid for it.’ “My empress…” Vilfredo spoke. “I am not your empress. Used to be one, but not anymore.” Weirdly, Dennis’ eyes sparkled. “Well, you can be the second time and rule the empire toge–” “No, thank you. I left my post because I want peace. Never again will I be on that exact spot.”

I stare at her shocked by her words, by her agreeing. “Don’t be a fool, don’t make deals like that!” Is she a fool? “You’re making yourself weak! You stand there and claim to be the fucking Queen, yet one issue and you roll over and be a doormat and give it all up!” Maybe I shouldn’t shout and be so blunt but who knows what they would do to the city. “It’s either that or no Jessie.” She looks at me.

Her jaw dropped as her eyes widened to what she say, "Huh? What are you trying to say? I'm not an Empress, I'm a servant." They all point at Zelia's and His Majesty' hands who's intertwined at each other, her cheeks reddened as she nervously shook her head, "N-No... I-I'm not an Empress, I-I swear and I'm also not planning to... this is a misunderstanding." "Eh? Why are you trying to deny when we saw it on our own eyes? Don't worry, Empress, we will not tell anyone about your relationship."They said as they are grinning, as well as teasing them making her sat on the chair, as she heard Reves, Mae as well as the Emperor made a 'pfft' sound.

“Least of all me.” Zane almost asked her—what’s in it for you? What do you gain from this suicide pact? What if it backfires? But the words died on his tongue. Because he knew better. Of course she didn’t want this marriage. Of course she was playing her own game. The Crown Prince’s voice pulled him back. “My father has fixed the wedding in two days. Vaani’s father will arrive from Dharakand. The hall will be flooded with nobles, guards, and eyes. I need you to help me quietly leave the palace before the ceremony.” His words were steel wrapped in silk.

Clear, calm and quiet, the way the sky goes quiet before something serious happens. “I, Sera Voss, accept your rejection, Caden Walsh. I sever the bond between us and release you from its claim.” A gasp. Actual gasps. Multiple. Because nobody does that. Nobody accepts out loud, not like that, not immediately, not without begging or crying or at minimum collapsing against someone. The accepted thing is to be destroyed by it. The accepted thing is to let the Alpha’s word be the last word. I didn’t look at the crowd.

the old woman was tongue-tied, for the first time in many years she was feeling that she had made a terrible mistake. "If you can't teach these servants anymore, then it's time for you to retire." "Master…" her voice was going weak into a whisper, she wanted to beg, but she knew that it was useless. "Jano!" Liam shouted and a man in blue robes appeared quickly in the sky as if he was summoned. "Your Highness, Madame," he bowed at the two beautiful figures. "Take her and dismiss her…" "Wait!" Emma's voice stopped him from saying his final order.

Every fear I had ever had was coming to life right in front of me and there was nothing I could do to stop it. *** I stood in front of the Wanix. Hopeless eyes stared back at me. “Um...fellow Wanix. It is uh with the heaviest of hearts that I stand before you right now. I am officially renouncing my title and stepping down as Empress of Gynem.” I was met with jeers and cries.

After a long while the Emperor came out and said, “We surrender, so please stop with your attacks.” Crown Prince smiled and nodded at Braum. “If you surrender, you need to make the tribute that is done on a yearly base. Not one gold coin less.” “Yes.” “You are to assure us that there is no more rebellion from you, then you must stepped down from your throne and put on a new emperor of my choosing,” said Crown Prince. The Emperor said with a loud clear voice, “Yes. I will stepped down and let you choose someone of your liking to take my place.”
