The Swiss police arrived within thirty minutes. Chloe stood on the terrace of Gideon's villa, watching the convoy of black vehicles wind their way up the mountain road. The setting sun had fully disappeared now, leaving behind a sky painted in deep purples and blues. The first stars were beginning to appear, tiny pinpricks of light in the vast darkness. The air was cold and crisp, carrying the scent of pine and distant snow. It was beautiful, peaceful—the kind of night that made you forget, even for a moment, the horrors that had led you here.

Emila watched her step as she moved into the living room, there was something familiar about how she walked but she couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was about it that made it seem familiar. “Where is he?” Emily asked, an edge in her voice coming off quite unusually but she maintained her still. “Oh, he’s in the bathroom, he’s taking a shower. Do take a seat please. Have we met or something before, I think I know you” she replied, her voice quickening at the end. “We haven't met before,I don't think you know me. Name's Dally” Emily said sharply, desperate to conceal her true identity. “Sorrrry, my bad… must’ve been someone else”

Outside, the street lights were gradually lit, starting from the main road, then to the small alley, but inside the room was still dark, without any light. Emily crouched in the corner. She feels much safer at night, she is afraid of dawn, afraid of sunlight, afraid of what is happening before her eyes, she is afraid of tomorrow. But the rotating laws of the universe will not stop out of pity for her. The darkness quickly disappeared and the new day quickly came, bringing with it hurried sounds from outside that made Emily unable to close her eyes and go back to sleep. She got out of the blanket, brushed her teeth, washed her face, took a shower, and changed clothes.

Twilight tilted her head in confusion. Ferdinand laughed indignantly, “You still want to cover it up after lying to me that my daughter is dead! How dare you!” Twilight's brow furrowed even more.
