As a cripple, it was hard for her to walk. She attracted a lot of people's attention in the crowd. Eileen felt that she was a clown. She could imagine how ugly and funny she was at this moment! She was a cripple, yet she was wearing a long and luxurious dress. There was a pair of two-centimeter high-heeled shoes under her feet, which were delicate and flashy. I hear a tapping sound as my eyes peel toward the top of the stone staircase. I almost choke on my drink. “Holy shit Kalen”. Kalen comes forward to see for himself. I start that direction and good thing I do because she trips and almost faceplants down a few stairs as I catch her. “Well that’s fucking embarassing” she scoffs at herself.

' Nick saw Emma lost in her thoughts when he snapped his fingers in front of her to bring her back to reality. He gestured her to sit down on the chair and then squatted down in front of her. He opened the box in his hand and, to Emma's curiosity, they were shoes. Simple, comfortable shoes. Nick put Emma's feet in the shoes, when she immediately backed out and said, “I can do it myself. Please get up.” “Why? Are you feeling shy, Mirabelle?” Said Nick while his grip on her leg tightened. Emma tried to free her feet but Nick, being the stubborn one, only got up once he himself helped her put on her shoes.

“Hello? Somebody, please!” Then I heard footsteps, and when I looked up, I saw her. Emmalaine stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at me with that smug little smile that made my stomach twist. She wasn’t in a hurry to help. She didn’t even look concerned. “Emmalaine…” I panted, wincing from the pain shooting through my knee. “Please… help me…” She tilted her head, pretending to think about it. Then, slowly, she descended the stairs holding a metal bucket in her hand. The smell hit me first, it was sour and dirty.

He winked at her and casually walked away. Emma exhaled a heavy breath of relief. Who was he? He must be one of the master's family members or business partners. After spending over an hour serving food to the mingling guests, Emma felt she had endured enough torture walking in those ridiculous high heels. She snuck back into the kitchen, set her empty tray on the counter, and practically collapsed into a chair. She quickly slipped the heels off her swollen feet and began desperately massaging her aching toes. Couldn't they have just let us wear regular black flats instead of these torture devices?

My eyes keep flicking to the hall, and every noise, making me pray for Jake. For the love of all that is holy. “You need to get them off, and my shoes.... If this is happening, then I want them off.” Emma frowns at me from her position, lifting her head up enough to see me over her knees, and I can see how badly she is clutching at the leg of a nearby chair. Squeezing the shit out of the chrome and I just thank my stars it’s not my hand. She could clearly crush every bone in my little dainty digits if she had a grip on me instead.

Emma suddenly asked as if understanding her thoughts and deciding to draw first blood. "Foot massage? Sure" Elaina accepted before casting looks at Jennifer who I figured was trying to understand what was going on. Emma got up and sat on the other end of the three sitter couch. "Please give me your feet Ms. Elaina." she said and winked at her. I was certain she added the title to spite Jennifer but paid her no mind. "I've always admired your feet, they look really nice and beautiful." she complimented while Elaina heaved a sigh of relief as she started her work on her.
