The ending of the book had been hard for her but she found her way around it and created an ending she would have wished happened between her and Eric. The story had started because of him in the first place. The story was a bit about the both of them and she had wanted to conclude it with what happened between both of them

"What's this?" Emma whispered, staring at the blood on her dress. She glanced up to see her niece wiping blood off her nose. "Come here, sweetheart." Emma squatted. "Did you fall again?" The child shuffled closer and Emma examined her. "Yeah, runs all the time, falls all the time. It's not news." Misty said. "No, this is different." Emma said as she gently wiped the blood off her niece's nose with a piece of cloth. The moment Emma showed her the blood, the child burst out crying. This reaction earned laughter from the girls.

Emma stays in the ware house to take care of the place and also goes to pick matt from school at noon. This was their routine until that fateful day. Emma had gone to pick matt from school but was hit by a car. The driver of that car was none other than favour's father. took her to the hospital and took care of her. however due to the fact that she hit her head during her fall, Emma didn't wake up for three days and when he did the first person she asked of were Levi and matt. Emma goes to her balcony and from there she looks at the night landscape of Rome. This place is truly beautiful. She feels a peace that she had never felt before and every second of the day seems to have a meaning that it didn't have when she was Adelaide. So she understood some other outfit planned to kidnap Amber but instead kidnapped her. "Who are you?" the guy who removed the cover away from her head asked. He jumped away from her with disgust. "I am Emma, I am a maid in the Costello villa" she whispered with fear in her face and voice.

“Does it bite?” Steve snorted. “Probably.” They reached a circular antechamber at the end of the hall where a massive tome—several feet tall and wider than a table—sat on a pedestal of smoldering glass. The book was open, its pages turning themselves. Emma stepped forward and placed her hand on the edge of the platform. Immediately, flames curled around her wrist—not burning, but connecting.
