She would know how and where to hit Clara where it hurts the most. Now back down on ground floor, Emma walked silently across the lobby. As they reached the main door, her parents were arguing about something. She could see their lips moving but couldn't hear them. Jovana occupied her mind. She had sold herself for the sake of her niece. For the first time, she understood what her father always said about survival. The drive home was awkward. The silence in the car pressed heavy on her. At the back of Mr. Rowland's limousine, the atmosphere was mournful once again. Emma and her parents sat quietly and everyone avoided eye contact.

Emma stays in the ware house to take care of the place and also goes to pick matt from school at noon. This was their routine until that fateful day. Emma had gone to pick matt from school but was hit by a car. The driver of that car was none other than favour's father. took her to the hospital and took care of her. however due to the fact that she hit her head during her fall, Emma didn't wake up for three days and when he did the first person she asked of were Levi and matt. "You were alone when the car hit you there was no one else there with you."

Emma goes to her balcony and from there she looks at the night landscape of Rome. This place is truly beautiful. She feels a peace that she had never felt before and every second of the day seems to have a meaning that it didn't have when she was Adelaide. She returns to her room and undresses in front of the mirror, where she observes herself for a long time. It's as if she were seeing another person. She combs her hair with her fingers, now black, and smiles. To think that she used to adore her long, red hair, and now she loves the person in front of her.

Dominic stared. And somewhere beneath the whiskey— beneath the humiliation— something darker began to bloom. ***** Morning arrived quietly. Soft gold sunlight spilled through Emma’s apartment windows. Warm. Gentle. Deceptive. Emma stood barefoot in her kitchen. An oversized white shirt hung loosely over sleep shorts. One shoulder bare. Her hair twisted into a messy bun. Coffee brewed softly behind her. Rich. Comforting. Familiar. She wrapped both hands around the mug. Stared down into the dark liquid.

Emma's clothes had been kissing the ground and her wolf Emmy waited for Miracle. Emma's mother was the beta's mate. Her father died before she was born. Her mother left Emma. She wasn’t able to provide for her. It was hard in this city. But Emma survived. I felt like a protector. She was like my sister. She had no one except me. I had no one. We were for each other.

Emma wandered in the street, buzzed from the alcohol and the onslaught of emotion. Was there someone out there who would help her? How was she supposed to get her hands on $50,000? The lid she had placed on her torment popped, and she allowed herself to feel her anguish. Not just for the day, but for the years of abuse she had endured. Emma never allowed herself to break down. She never wanted to be anyone’s burden. The desire to lose control overwhelmed her, but she had to press on. She wandered in the streets for what felt like hours.

She looked around a little and confirmed that she is in a warehouse somewhere. "Disgusting" one of the guys shuddered looking at her face. She felt a little relieved that her face is repulsive to these guys. Emma looked at the man who just commented. He is a made man and she never saw him in their villa before. So she understood some other outfit planned to kidnap Amber but instead kidnapped her. "Who are you?" the guy who removed the cover away from her head asked. He jumped away from her with disgust. "I am Emma, I am a maid in the Costello villa" she whispered with fear in her face and voice.

“Does it bite?” Steve snorted. “Probably.” They reached a circular antechamber at the end of the hall where a massive tome—several feet tall and wider than a table—sat on a pedestal of smoldering glass. The book was open, its pages turning themselves. Emma stepped forward and placed her hand on the edge of the platform. Immediately, flames curled around her wrist—not burning, but connecting. We resumed our journey toward New Jersey, determined to uncover the truth behind this ambush. We arrived at a location in New Jersey, and it was time to search for Emma. But before we could take the next step, I received a call that sent shivers down my spine. It was Emma, and her voice was weak and trembling. Emma settled into his embrace, trying hard to concentrate but she was so exhausted. Within the hour she was fast asleep and safe with Matthias protecting her. She felt a warm blanket wrap around her and his warm kiss upon her forehead. His whispers penetrated her consciousness, "Sleep tight, my little shadow." Then nothing but darkness as sleep enveloped her until she walked into a dark room without any windows. She wrinkled her nose at the stale smell of blood and oh... it was horrible. The cloaked figure raised her head and stared at Emma with purple eyes.
