That figure seemed somehow familiar. "Dorian?" I blurted out without thinking. "Seraphina." Dorian did not seem surprised to see me. Perhaps he had already known that the Emperor and the Empress would be there that day. He was only a year older than Nathaniel, but his face was weathered beyond his years, making it impossible to tell his actual age. He had also become even thinner, with sunken cheeks and protruding eyes, wearing thin clothing in the cold winter. When he walked, his legs moved slowly, as if he had some difficulty.

Victor smiled. “I know it will.” The room held its breath. Then Adriana laughed. It wasn’t a warm laugh. It was the kind of laugh that made powerful men uncomfortable. “You still don’t understand something about me, Victor.” She stood up and walked slowly around the table. “I don’t sell under pressure.” Victor crossed his arms. “You will.” Adriana stopped directly in front of him. Their eyes locked. “No,” she said softly. “You will.” Then she pressed a button on the remote in her hand.

'They looked shock enough to puke as soon as I ordered them those words. 'Ah, I love what I am seeing' Looking at their faces, I showed them a glamorous and triumphant smile. Yes, like a someone who won an argument. It's not what I usually wear whenever I am outside or inside of my palace on my empire because it's kind of hideous and evil so it'a not appropriate to use it to get other people's favor but since these girls are trying to dominate me and make me lower myself to their kinds, using this luxurious, mocking smile is good.

Kaiser’s eyes, usually a calm storm of control, now burned with a slow, simmering fury. They narrowed into sharp slits as the corners of his mouth curled upward, an infamous smile, thin and bone-deep, that sent an involuntary shudder rippling through the few souls who dared witness it. This was no ordinary smile; it was a predator’s grin, cold and merciless, a smile that had ended empires and shattered lives. It was the kind of smile that made even the bravest men falter, the kind that spoke of dark promises made in shadows.
