It seemed like whenever I thought it couldn’t get any worse, my mom or dad pulled out another embarrassing story. It wasn’t any better for Sarah, as most of my embarrassing stories involved her. Surprisingly, many of the stories Tyler had never heard before, so Jake and Tyler had some good laughs. The story of Sarah and I running naked home from going skinny dipping in a neighbor’s pool was not even the most embarrassing story of the night but definitely got a good laugh from everyone.

He countered with a story about mistaking a spicy pepper for something mild and paying for it dramatically. “You cried?” she teased. “Briefly,” he said with mock dignity. “But only internally.”
