I asked, unsure of my own words. “How about a month?” my aunt rephrased, “really get to know them, get all the juicy details. Flair Mag is offering you a top entertainment position if you manage to get it done. I know you dream of working for them and this is the fastest ticket there,” Aunt Molly explained. I looked down yet again at the sheet knowing very well Aunt Molly was right. I had been dreaming to work there as an Entertainment journalist for years, and that would be made possible if I completed the task. My career would officially take off but- there was always a -but.

Pregnant by my Ex-Boyfriend’s Father

Pregnant by my Ex-Boyfriend’s Father

On the walk back she says quietly, “Maybe you need a job. Something that forces you to use your brain. You know, other writers can inspire you.” She is right. I hate that she is right, but she is. So when we get back home, I search for writing jobs. Content roles. Editorial roles. Anything that requires me to think like a storyteller again. I find one. A nice one. Good pay. Hybrid. I apply. The next day they message me for an interview.

The queen of icy heart

The queen of icy heart

And half of them would be unanswered at the end. So she was sorting through options while I tried to find the papers and articles I wanted to put next to my resume. Suddenly Anabelle shrieked and scared me to death in the process but before I could yell at her she was already rambling a mile an hour. "You will not believe what I just found! National television is looking for a sports reporter and the job description would suit you because others would do the research for you and you just have to repeat it, only on huge sports events you would have to be personally present. The pay is also higher than it was for your previous position, and you have weekends off. And you still decide how to wr

All The Wrong Reasons

All The Wrong Reasons

“Just because Kimmy was the smart one, doesn’t mean she was going to be the only one to have a bright future. Why don’t you start out as a secretary in a big firm? Or you could look into broadcasting. Adrienne fell silent. “Every time my friends ask me what you do, I don’t know what to say. I mean, I can’t really tell them you go around Manhattan fast foods and bars, and write essays to get paid per word.” “Mom, I’m not being paid per word. I’m actually doing fine. I think I’m one of the highest paid magazine writers in the world!” She rolled her eyes. She wasn’t sure if that was true though. But she was paid quite well and she loved her job, even with Jada being her boss. Unfortunately, her

Great Story & definitely worth a read. I do wish the book had better editing & proofreading. This author is extremely talented, but the little errors here & there keep the book at A- level instead of A+. I do wish the female leads, especially in this story, were a bit brighter & street smart.

Say You’re Mine: Heron’s Landing Book 1

Say You’re Mine: Heron’s Landing Book 1

“A writer? What kind of writing?” Joy cringed internally. She hated that question—it was almost impossible to talk about with people who weren’t writers because it inevitably led to awkwardness—so she gave her standard answer: “I’m a freelance journalist, actually.” “A journalist? That’s a first for this town.” Adam’s tone seemed, if not annoyed, at least not particularly enthused. “I write primarily for online news blogs and magazines. Depends on what kind of stories come my way.” “So you wait for something bad to happen and then cash in on it.”

Sweet Marriage: Dear Lady, You're Mine

Sweet Marriage: Dear Lady, You're Mine

How could she remember every single job? What more, reporters in the entertainment industry liked to run after shadows. If they managed to take some pictures, they could immediately start spreading rumors. If Christin really wanted to pursue the truth, he would definitely use this opportunity to nag her. Only God knew that once Christin started nagging, he could go on talking in her ear for a long time. "I want to see if there was anything suspicious between you and any men in the past. Then, if you ever meet any men during work in the future, I will have to watch out for them!" Christin watched the variety shows quickly as he played at double the speed.

Gargoyles in Uniform

Gargoyles in Uniform

Five column inches, which would be cut if any of the City of Brotherly Love's elite who hadn't attended the gala had a hangnail—or worse, wore last year's Prada to a restaurant opening. She shuddered, then her ears perked up. "Grotesque?" Janice-or-Kendra asked. Whitney had lost track of who was in which stall. One of them flushed, then the other. This was truly the hard-hitting journalism she'd expected to cover with her degree. Her father had said she needed to work her way up, just like everyone else in his newspaper. Presumably, Janet came out and washed her hands. She moved closer to her friend. "It's a pop-up nightclub."

notice he was waiting for an answer. “Oh, erm, thanks for the offer Brian, but I am ready to get back to work. I just want to take my mind off of it.” “I understand Bella, the offer still stands if you change your mind. Now please close my door on your way out. Thank you.” He said without looking up. I left his room and closed the door behind me, walking to my pod. I shared a pod with three other people. Rob was the only man on our pod, he was in his late twenties, he focused on the arts and leisure. Jo was the local agony aunt; she had been through a lot so usually gave great advice in the advice column. Emma was on the announcements. Births, deaths and marriages. I had features, it’s what
