"I think Ethan Cephas is a ghost" Immediately those words left Elle's mouth, everywhere turned quiet. Even the cameramen stopped taking pictures. People that were close enough to hear what Elle said were all shocked as they stared in disbelief with their mouths open. Mia stood transfixed for some minutes before she came out of her trance, she nudged Elle's arm "Elle, what did you say? Just say it was a mistake" She silently whispered for only Elle to hear. Nevertheless, others heard what she said.

The family lawyer stared at me through a projection screen. “Are you sure you want to hand over all the evidence? Every power will retaliate, and there won’t be a place in the city for Evelyn Mancini.” “I’m certain.” “The stakes are incredibly high. You have 24 hours to think it over.” The projection flickered out. Just as soon as my phone shut off, a soft click came from the door lock. Carrying a faint, almost undetectable trace of scent, Vincent Colleo strode in.

“What the hell was he involved in?” “We need to talk to Delfina, again.” Eusebio said quietly. “Without jumping down her throat, throwing wild accusations or calling her names. We need to know what the hell was happening?” “Um, Dad?” Ernestino held up the book. “There’s a line in here from three years ago with the name Nek Poletti, for two million dollars. It says collateral business, and then in the repayment line, it simply says paid in full and the initials DP and EM.”

Looking up at Housekeeper Win, Valentine Anderson said coldly, "I'll take him to school." Housekeeper Win wanted to protest, but Valentine Anderson had already put Pete in the car. She wisely kept silent and watched as they drove away from the mansion. As Valentine Anderson drove Pete to school, his face was gloomy. His thoughts were consumed by the DNA test. Although Pete tried to engage him in conversation, Valentine didn't respond or even glance at him.

Hearing half of the conversation is a complete waste of snooping time. The men are still being secretive with what happened, but through previous eavesdropping efforts I've learned Pete, the notorious alcoholic, fish guy, and drug overlord, wasn't in his underground lair or wherever he's hiding out — no one technically specified where he was underground — but I realize it might have been literal. Wherever he'd hidden, he wasn't there. However, ten of his soldiers had been there and Ridge's team had gotten the jump on them.

The only way to figure it out would be to tell her. “I have brought a suitcase with some of her things inside of it.” He pulled it out from under the table and slid it towards him on the tile floor beside the booth. Nick took ahold of it. He watched as Pete stood up, reached in his breast pocket and took out money and placed it on the table. He walked out the diner without a second glance at Nick. Nick sat at the booth for a few more minutes, then stood up, took the suitcase in hand, and walked into the bathroom.

But Pete was the stabilizing force. The man who could cut through chaos and make the impossible happen. And tonight, every person in the mansion was placing their faith in him. Pete listened intently, occasionally nodding, his face unreadable. Seconds stretched into what felt like an eternity. Then he ended the call. The click echoed through the vast room. Every spine straightened. Every breath was held. And Pete turned slowly to Ethan. “Ethan, the video has been taken down and our men have found a lead on Belle’s disappearance,” Pete reported, immediately drawing Ethan’s full attention.
