The reply from the other end of the line came quickly.
“Oh, Mr. Jenson, we’re so glad to finally get in touch with you. We regret to inform you that Luanne was killed in the line of duty. You’re the emergency contact listed in her file, so if you have the time, please come down to the station.”
A loud buzzing sound exploded in Greg’s brain, as if countless sharp needles were piercing through his mind simultaneously. The intense pain made his vision go dark.
Yet, the voice on the other end, sounding like a demon to him now, continued, “Luanne’s funeral service is being organized by her close friend, Mr. Frank Cosmo. If you’d like to help out, you can get in touch with him.”
