The older woman’s sharp eyes scanned Erika, noting the casual tunic and trousers she wore, and her slightly disheveled hair.
“Good morning, Mother Luna,” Erika greeted cautiously, sensing something was amiss.
“Good morning, Erika. May I come in?” Dunia’s voice held an edge, though it was wrapped in her usual poised demeanor.
Erika stepped aside, allowing her to enter. Dunia’s presence seemed to fill the room as she moved to stand near the window, the light framing her silver hair like a crown. She clasped her hands in front of her, her knuckles pale.
