Third pov In the depths of the forest, beyond the sacred border stones of Nora’s territory, Erebus gathered with his followers. The flames of their hidden campfire crackled, casting twisted shadows on their clothes and faces. Each of them bore the mark of Griffin—an ancient rune burned onto their wrists in blood and secrecy. Erebus’ eyes gleamed with satisfaction. “She’s grown strong,” he murmured, “but the stronger she becomes, the more vulnerable she is. The orb is waking, and she’s too naïve to control it.”

My claws went to his neck without a second thought, and I dug my claws into it. He howled painfully as I pulled my claw out of his neck, he gagged, and blood gushed out of his neck. I saw the knife I had kicked out of Zeus’s hand. I shifted, and staggered to get it. I got the knife, stabbed him over his heart, and made sure I didn’t miss his heart. I pulled out the dagger, stabbed him again, twisted it in and pulled it out, and tossed it. I froze. Snapped out of it, and saw Eris, staring at me. The look was different, not of affection, not of love, it wasn’t passionate either.

Eris sighed, running her fingers through her short, dark hair. “He escaped with the help of halflings,” she replied, and Conor was taken aback by the revelation. “What?!” he echoed in disbelief, and Eris nodded slowly. “What the hell does Elijah have to do with the damned halflings?” he seethed. Eris shrugged, leaning back against the hood of the car and crossing her arms over her chest. “That’s what I’d like to know. And didn’t you say the guy was human?” she asked, tilting her head.

exclaimed Claire. Notus attacked again with a swirling force in the air like a drill bit towards Claire. The woman dodged again, but she managed to launch an attack with Eris's power coming out of her hand. However, Notus again avoided the attack by breaking down into the wind. "Is that all your strength?" asked Notus mockingly. "You dodge like a coward," said Claire as she pulled her strength towards Notus. Eris is also the Goddess of Competition. Claire aroused a sense of competition in Notus's heart.
